You Need a Friend - 4 tips to Prove it

Pretty good years back, I mistook friends for toys or play objects. But now, I’ve learned. Now, I know friends are much more than toys. They influence our everyday life. They can help build our world or help destroy it. They ultimately help shape who we are.

There is a great deal in having a friend; I mean a good friend. Although it’s going to be really hard because it could mean a lot of heart breaks, but it’s worth it.

Below are some tips to show you why you need a friend:-

  • SOMEONE TO TRUST

"A friend is a person with whom I may be sincere. Before him I may think aloud."
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

"It is more shameful to distrust one's friends than to be deceived by them."
- Duc de la Rochefoucauld

I remember I once saw on a page – “it is dangerous to trust everyone but it is more dangerous to trust no one.” You need to trust someone. You can’t continue to act like everything depends on you. Remember the division of labor? – Every man has got a role to play and so are others in your life. Some friends may come for good while other friends may come for bad. When your bad friends get hold of you, they want to tear you apart but the good ones will come to your rescue.
Give no room for people to be your enemies. Although you can’t help being disliked, but you can kind enough to  trust those that genuinely want to be around you.

  • SOMEONE THAT UNDERSTANDS HOW YOU FEEL

"It is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be stupid with them."
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

We necessarily, at all time, do not need words to express ourselves. Sometimes we just find it really hard to say some things. True friends can be of help in these times. They read you like a book and they could tell if you are sad or happy. They try so hard to find out those things that annoy you or make you happy. They do these not because you are some kind of specimen but because they care.

  • BE THERE WHEN THINGS GO WRONG

"It is not so much our friends' help that helps us as the confident knowledge that they will help us."
- Epicurus

At some point in our lives, we feel down. At some point in our lives, we lose hope. At some point in our lives, bouncing back is going to seem impossible. Have you ever wondered why you can’t cast a spell and set everything back in place? It must hurt to know you can’t, right? Maybe you don’t need a spell after all. Maybe what you need is someone to help you see things you took for granted. Someone you can be proud to call your friend. Friends can do the magic of installing back your lost hope. That’s what they are made for – to be a shoulder to lean on – that’s more like a good friend.

  • HELP YOU BUILD YOUR WORLD

“My best friend is the one that bring out the best in me” – Henry Ford

“Be aware that friendships and relationships are not to increase the number of people we know, but to multiply what we are. For to be great in life, you must talk, walk and work with men of high integrity”
– Unknown

"Think where man's glory most begins and ends, and say my glory was I had such friends."

- William Yeats

Your environment, either negatively or positively, influences you. It helps build who you are. Everyone, you come in contact with help shape your life. Bad influences will obviously help destroy what you’ve labored for. They will help destroy your dreams. But unlike bad influences, positive influences, your true friends will help build your world. Just the way you like it; just the way it looks in your dreams – amazing! - Special! - Perfect!  That’s your world.
